New Record Turnout
New Record Turnout: MUGLER with 22 Starters at the 5th Chemnitz Business Race
22 runners of MUGLER AG were at the start of the Fifth Chemnitz Business Race – that is, more than twice as many as in the previous year and more than every ninth of our employees! However, we could not contest the title of the “most sportive business” held by the Chemnitz Technical University with their 122 competitors, but, in terms percentages, we obviously overtook the Chemnitz TU – with over 1,800 employees working there altogether.
All in all, almost 2,000 competitors coming from 260 regional businesses ran the path of around five kilometers. Correspondingly huge was the crush of people at the end of Klostergasse where the start and finish line had been located this year. The runners were cheered by plenty of spectators; most of them because of their sporting achievements and some because of their witty outfit. “Health and company should most of all be in the foreground at the business race. All runners should jointly experience that team spirit, fun, and creativity are more important than the success in sports” says Conrad Kebelmann, manager of the event agency “The Sportsmakers”.
The results achieved by our runners are really impressive. Our first runner crossed the finish line within a time of 18 minutes and 23 seconds. In the team classification, our sportsmen took excellent rankings: the 9th rank (out of 57) for the women’s teams, 11th rank (out of 126) for the mixed teams, and 20th rank (out of 238) for the men’s teams. However, our teams also enjoyed a great deal of fun. At the start, during the run and after finish, joyful faces were to see, and during the final “After Run” event in the Tower Brewhouse, there were drinks and food for refreshment and a lot of chitchat and laughter.
