A milestone for MUGLER: opening our new warehouse in Oberlungwitz

The opening of our new Warehouse 3 marks a clear commitment to the future development of our Oberlungwitz site. The expansion strengthens our logistics operations, creates modern training facilities and underlines our commitment to the region and to sustainable growth.

Our site continues to grow

Built in a short space of time, the new facility complements the existing site in both function and appearance. For our teams, it means more efficient processes and a working environment that places even greater emphasis on safety and skills development.

The opening ceremony reflected our close ties with partners and the local community. Guests included representatives of the contractors involved in construction, the fire brigade and our immediate neighbours, as well as the Mayor of Oberlungwitz.

Investing in logistics & training

Around €3.5 million was invested in the project, securing the long-term capabilities of our delivery and warehousing operations while creating additional capacity.

At its heart is a high-bay pallet warehouse covering 1,800 square metres, designed to make better use of space and accelerate material flows. In addition, more than 100 employee parking spaces have been created to make everyday access easier.

A particular highlight is the indoor climbing facility for training in work at height. Together with new washroom facilities, it provides ideal conditions for safe, practical training at height – directly on site and regardless of the weather.

Efficiency meets sustainability

From the outset, the project was designed with efficiency and resource conservation in mind. Two rainwater storage tanks with a combined capacity of more than 200 m³ support sustainable water use and reduce operating costs.

The outdoor areas were also extensively redesigned. A retaining wall stabilises the terrain, routes have been improved and the layout ensures that logistics operations and vehicle movements work smoothly together.

Architecturally, the facility also fits into the existing site: modern, functional buildings complement the renovated historic structures – a visible expression of our commitment to combining established strengths with new ideas.

Delivered in record time

Despite challenging conditions – from excavating a hillside to the groundworks for the storage tanks – the facility was completed in less than a year.

Construction took place while normal operations continued, with virtually no disruption. This was only possible thanks to close collaboration with regional partners and the dedication of our teams.

The result is a robust, future-ready addition to our infrastructure that lays the foundation for further growth while improving workplace safety.

Opening ceremony & community response

We were delighted to welcome numerous guests to the opening, including the contractors involved, the Oberlungwitz Fire Brigade, our immediate neighbours and Mayor Thomas Hetzel. In his speech, he affectionately described our site as “a beacon for Oberlungwitz” – a title we are very pleased to receive.

The warm congratulations and gifts we received at the opening reflect our strong local connections. For us, the facility is also a shared achievement, shaped by the ideas and efforts of many people.

Our thanks go to all colleagues responsible for planning, construction and organisation. Their commitment made this opening possible and gave the site fresh momentum.

Looking ahead: greater capacity, closer connections

The new facility strengthens our ability to deliver reliable service to customers, from faster processes to more resilient supply chains. Bringing training and practical work together in the same building reduces distances and helps people learn more quickly.

At the same time, we continue to invest in developing our teams’ skills. The indoor climbing facility enables training under consistent conditions – a clear advantage for safety and quality.
