Heavy24 2025 recap: over 1,000 riders, 24 hours, full throttle

Some weekends begin at a leisurely pace – others with a starting signal and a hundred tyres rolling into action. At Heavy24, it’s all about the latter: 24 hours of mountain biking, more than 1,000 riders, a course that pushes everyone to their limits – and an atmosphere that gives you goosebumps.

In 2025, the Rabenstein reservoir was once again a hive of activity: teams prepared for the race, spectators sought out shady spots – and we at MUGLER were there with an information stand.

Between the starting area and the riders’ camp, many visitors stopped by for a quick chat, a look inside our goodie bags or simply to find out more about what we do.

An event that gets people moving

Heavy24 is one of Germany’s largest 24-hour mountain bike races. Since its first edition in 2007, it has become a firm fixture in the cycling calendar, with a clear format: a 9-kilometre circuit with around 140 metres of climbing per lap, ridden solo or in teams, by day and by night.

The event is organised by mtb-chemnitz.de, the “Rennmacher” – a team with a genuine passion for cycling. Alongside the race itself, Heavy24 offers a festival atmosphere with food, music, children’s activities and a lively campsite.

Professional and amateur riders, families and fans all come together here – and it is precisely this mix that makes the event so special.

MUGLER at the heart of the action

Our trackside stand put us right where conversations happen: between race number collection and the riders’ camp, amid technical discussions and team spirit.

Over the weekend, we handed out 200 generously filled goodie bags containing small but thoughtful gifts such as CREW socks, water bottles and handy everyday essentials. More important than the contents, however, were the connections we made: a quick conversation, a smile, an interest in who we are and what we do.

For us, Heavy24 was an opportunity to give people a first-hand impression of MUGLER: as a company that values team spirit, an employer willing to explore new paths and part of a region that keeps moving – in every sense of the word.

Dust, racing and conversation

Once again, Heavy24 delivered in 2025: impressive sporting performances, well-organised facilities and a programme of activities that complemented the event perfectly. Whether at the Kids Race, on a night lap with a head torch or cheering together along the course, the feeling was the same everywhere: this was about more than lap times – it was about shared enthusiasm.

We would like to thank everyone who stopped by, the organisers for a thoroughly successful weekend and the entire mountain biking community for making us feel so welcome.

Next stop: the 2026 anniversary edition

One race ends, and the countdown to the next begins: the 20th Heavy24 will take place from 18 to 21 June 2026 – once again at the Rabenstein reservoir. Registration opens on 5 October 2025 at 12 noon – a date worth putting in your diary straight away, as experience has shown.

We are already looking forward to the next edition. And who knows? Perhaps next time we will see you in the saddle as well as at our stand.
